Note - Our mission is to ensure fairness and equity in the valuation of the county’s real estate tax base. We wish to help facilitate commerce by providing the Abbeville County Geographic Information System. This website is our latest effort to assist you in conveniently obtaining tax mapping information. When the existing mapping system was overlaid onto our aerial photographs, discrepancies and errors were inevitable. It will take time to correct each and every inaccuracy. The controlling documents are the DEEDS and PLATS(surveys), which are on file in the County Clerk of Court’s office. Property values are based solely upon these legal documents; not upon the estimated acreage as noted on these maps. These maps are an approximation of property lines. Again, especially in matters of property line disputes or property values, the legal documents (deeds and plats) are much more important to consider. If you notice a serious error, please mail or email the assessor’s office (PO Bx 993, Abbeville SC 29620) a summary along with any supporting plats or deeds.
